Clive Quick FRCS MS MA FDS - Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon
Clive Quick trained as a dental surgeon before changing track to become a general and vascular surgeon in Cambridgeshire. As an associate lecturer at Cambridge University, he taught and examined clinical students in surgery and is principle author of Essential Surgery, now in its 5th edition.
He was a member of the Court of Examiners of the RCS of England for the old FRCS and currently for the MRCS exam. He strongly believes that surgical techniques are best learned under close supervision in the lab. He founded the Cambridge Anastomosis Workshop with his Addenbrooke's colleague, Bill Everett in 1983 and the course has run annually since then.
He is also involved in training surgeons and trainers in anastomosis skills and emergency surgery at workshops in Africa. The course manual, designed illustrated by Robert Whitaker, and a DVD set are published by Cambridge University Press.
